Patty’s husband Dr Scott Rocklage studied his PhD at the department of chemistry. Dr Scott Rocklage together with Patty Rocklage visited the MIT department for a celebration of their contribution to the institution to support renovation of nanotechnology and Moungi Bawendi’s nanochemistry in appreciation of the organization being the foundation of his career.

Dr Rocklage studied PhD under the Nobel Prize for being the winner in chemistry. Dr Rocklage admits that he did not know how much the skills he had acquired would be useful at MIT.

He also appreciates the remarkable number of good friends he made at MIT and the competitive nature of their education that brought out the best in each one of them. For these reasons, he did not hesitate to support the institution when approached by Sylvia Ceyer who is the former head of the department.

The two also volunteer for the Sudanese Education Fund to resettle refugees in Massachusetts and offer them housing and employment. The story of Patty Rocklage and her husband Scott Rocklage is an inspiration to many people because of their philanthropic contributions to the education sector.
