During his time in the US Marines, Perry Mandera gained experience in transportation and logistics when he was tasked with transporting troops and supplies (Resume). Using that experience after his discharge from service he was employed at several transportation companies before founding his own in 1980. He sold that business five years later and for a short time pursued a political career. Today he is the CEO of The Custom Companies, Inc., formed in 1986.
